The FDIC is often appointed as receiver for a failed bank (of which there are, unfortunately, quite a few these days). The FDIC then attempts to sell off the failed institutions assets to pay creditors or transfer those assets to an acquiring institution. We have been appointed to represent the FDIC in matters that arise from its position as receiver. For example, if the failed bank is involved in litigation at the time the FDIC is appointed as receiver, the FDIC must be substituted into the case in lieu of the failed bank. In situations such as this, Snyder Law Group has had the pleasure of representing the FDIC as receiver of the failed institution as part of the “wrap up” of the failed bank’s business dealings.
